Delta State Queen expelled from palace over allegation of infidelity


The Queen of Idumuje-Ugboko community of Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State has been expelled over allegation of infidelity levelled against her by some palace chiefs, is causing a major roar in the community.

However, the Queen Mother, Her Royal Majesty Okwukwe Nwoko, has said that those behind her plight were people who want to assume the functions of the king, Obi Agbogidi Nwoko III, who is indisposed and threatened to use legal means to secure her legitimate position.

When speaking to reporters at Idumuje-Ugboko, the Queen said that she was unjustly removed from the palace when she was 7 months pregnant for her husband, the king, adding that as a faithful African woman, infidelity was strange to her nature.

The Queen also added that she was ready to subject herself and the child in question to DNA test or the traditional oath taking to prove her innocence.

She claimed she would not do anything to bring disgrace or shame to the king or the palace because the love she has for the king was so strong. She then appealed to the opinion leaders, Obi-in-Council and the people of Idumuje-Ugboko to allow her go back to the palace and take care of her husband.

In a swift reaction, a member of the royal family, Prince Obi Nwoko, claimed that the Queen was found to be pregnant before her wedding to the king and was consequently sanctioned according to the tradition and custom of the people.
